Covid-19 Safety Guidelines
Ivanhoe Speech Therapy will be offering both face to face therapy in the studio and online sessions as of 1st June.
At Ivanhoe Speech Therapy we are committed to the health and safety of your family and your child’s progress towards achievement of their goals.
As of the 1st June we will be offering face to face sessions within the studio for children who prefer this format. We are fortunate to have a large and spacious studio that meets the government requirements to maintain social distancing.
We encourage children who have had successful online sessions to continue with online sessions, although we understand if face to face therapy is preferred.
Ivanhoe Speech Therapy is keeping up with daily advice from The Department of Health, Australian Government and Centre for Disease to ensure we are following the correct safety procedures. In addition, we have implemented some additional procedures to ensure the health and safety of everyone attending the studio. Please read these below.
Safety Protocols for families coming into the studio:

Practice thorough hygiene
Ivanhoe Speech Therapy will be implementing thorough infection prevention and sanitation practices by ensuring surfaces are cleaned and disinfected after each patient.
Please Note: Sessions will end after 40 minutes to permit thorough cleaning of the studio.
You and your child must use the hand sanitiser on entry to the studio and when leaving;
You or your child may be asked to use the hand sanitiser any time throughout your session, particularly when working with any resources/books;
Cover your and your child’s nose and mouth with disposable tissues when coughing or sneezing. Please dispose of them in one of our bins and then thoroughly sanitise your hands;
Avoid shaking hands, high fives, hugging or touching your clinician;
Keep a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and other people where possible.
Please do not arrive to your session early so as to avoid waiting in the waiting room or coming in contact with other families;
Please do not bring excess bags, books, toys into the clinic room, only bring what you need. A plastic box will be provided to put all bags in while in the studio; Siblings are not able to attend therapy sessions. Only one parent can attend the therapy session with their child;
All books, toys and games have been removed from the waiting area and the studio to reduce the amount of cleaning required. Children will no longer be able to select their own toys from the toy cupboard;
Only plastic toys, that are easily sterilised, will be used within sessions. At the end of the session these toys will be placed in the sink or plastic box ready to be sterilised that night;
Please refrain from holding the door handles. Our clinician will open the door for you and let you in;
Please note: our clinicians will be using the COVID SAFE app. If a COVID -19 case is detected, a list of people attending the clinic can be pulled from the patient calendar if requested by the Health Department. By attending a session, you are consenting to your name being provided if requested.
Please note that at any stage these safety procedures may change, or you may be asked to comply to a specific instruction whilst at the clinic.
